Watches & Wonders 2023

A TRIBUTE TO THE GENEVA WATCH INDUSTRY

Geneva has been recognized as one of the world’s leading centers for the watch industry for a long time. For more than two centuries, the city has been home to some of the most prestigious watch brands in the world, and every year in spring, Watches & Wonders is an event where the biggest brands from all over the world come together to highlight their latest collections and innovations.

Watches & Wonders started in 1991 as the much less mundane Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, fortunately shortened to SIHH, and after several years of running in parallel with Baselworld to organize the two largest watch fairs in the world almost in a symbiotic relationship, Watches & Wonders is now the only one left after Baselworld first postponed the 2020 edition due to Covid-19, and later ended up canceling completely and not coming back. For the time being, at least. But that is a different story entirely, which we will come back to some other time.

Today, Watches & Wonders is an iconic event that attracts watch enthusiasts and collectors from all over the world. It is an opportunity for watch experts and watch geeks to experience the latest and most innovative watches on the market and to celebrate the rich history and artisanal expertise of the watch industry. A. Lange & Söhne, Chopard and IWC. Panerai, Patek Philippe, and Rolex. They all have one thing in common: this year, together with 42 other top brands, they are deploying their marketing prowess, building otherworldly exhibition stands, and highlighting the year’s new products to the press and professionals.

The event allows watch brands to highlight their latest collections and innovations through digital exhibitions and presentations. The audience can experience the watches in a new and innovative way, with the opportunity to ask questions and engage in debates about the trends and future of the industry.

PUBLIC ACCESS

Watches & Wonders is not only an event for watch brands and professionals but also for the interested public looking to get a closer look at the watch industry and learn more about the fascinating world of watches. For the first time, it is possible for the ordinary collector and watch geek to gain access to the hallowed halls of Geneva. It is an excellent opportunity to see the latest trends and innovations in the industry and to experience the most prestigious and exclusive brands on the market.

Football and fashion icon David Beckham has already announced his arrival as a Tudor ambassador, and UrHandleren Invest will of course be present, as we have sent CEO Daniel Nielsen, COO Søren Søltoft, and Head of Investment Jesper Markman to Switzerland. The three have brought their notepads and cameras and will report on the latest news and trends in the best international correspondent style, which will be published regularly on our social media channels. In addition, the three representatives from UrHandleren Invest will also, in old-fashioned army style, scout for the possibility of inviting our investment clients to Geneva for the 2024 edition of Watches & Wonders, so that we can provide our good friends of our company with a grand experience in the spirit of horology.

Since 2013, when David Beckham hung up his soccer boots, he has been a global ambassador for Tudor. This watch is a new 41mm Black Bay in steel.
